Onpaper turns chats exported from WhatsApp into PDFs. It's made by Yoghurt Digital Ltd ("we"). The short version: your chats stay on your phone, we have no servers, and we don't collect anything about you.
Your chats
Onpaper only opens the chat exports you give it, by sharing them to Onpaper from WhatsApp or picking them with your phone's file picker. All reading and PDF making happens on your phone. Your messages, photos and the names in them are never uploaded, sent to us or shared with anyone.
While a chat is open, Onpaper keeps its messages in the app's memory and unpacks its photos into the app's private storage on your phone. A shared export is copied there while it's read, then deleted. Opening another chat replaces the last one's photos, and Android clears this storage when it needs the space.
A PDF goes only where you send it: into your phone's Downloads folder when you save it, or to the app you pick when you share it.
Other people in your chats
Your chats include messages from other people. Onpaper handles them only on your phone, to make the PDF you ask for. It's up to you who you share that PDF with.
Purchases
Onpaper is free. You can pay once to remove the footer from your PDFs. Google Play handles the payment, so we never see your payment details. Onpaper asks Google Play whether you've bought the upgrade and remembers the answer on your phone. This is the only time the app uses the internet.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Permissions
Onpaper doesn't ask for access to your files, photos, contacts, camera, microphone or location. Sharing to Onpaper and the file picker give it only the file you choose. Saving a PDF to Downloads needs no permission on Android 10 and later; older phones let you pick a folder instead.
Children
Onpaper isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
